What
Headstone Healing is a volunteer-driven community initiative formed in response to the vandalism of more than 140 graves at Toowoomba’s historic cemetery, working to restore the damage and preserve local history.
Specifications
The client came to CoBright to design and develop a website that promotes the Headstone Healing Project and supports secure online fundraising.

The Challenge
When more than 140 headstones and memorials at Toowoomba’s historic Drayton & Toowoomba Cemetery were deliberately destroyed, the community was heartbroken. In response, locals came together to form the Headstone Healing Project, partnering with TAFE Queensland to begin the restoration.
As momentum grew, the committee recognised that community spirit alone wouldn’t be enough; they needed a credible, trustworthy online presence to share their mission and raise funds for repairs. Their initial self-built website lacked the design quality, storytelling, and secure payment features required to engage the public and process donations safely.
That’s when the committee turned to CoBright, who recognised the project’s emotional and historical significance and offered to create a premium website free of charge, giving the group the professional platform they needed to confidently launch their fundraising campaign.

The Solution
CoBright developed a premium, donation-ready website designed to elevate the Headstone Healing Project’s visibility and credibility. Carefully curated to reflect the project’s purpose, the site clearly communicates its mission and provides a seamless, secure way for people to donate online.
The design balances functionality with empathy, showcasing the stories behind the damaged headstones while making it easy for visitors to contribute. CoBright also set up and configured a Stripe business account with a charitable discount on transaction fees, ensuring more of every donation supports the project’s restoration goals.

The Outcome
The result is a professionally curated and visually engaging website. The new platform features clear calls-to-action, intuitive navigation, and powerful storytelling, giving the committee the confidence to officially launch their public fundraising campaign.
Beyond its technical strengths, the website also honours Toowoomba’s history. CoBright helped the committee feature family stories and historical details about the damaged gravesites, turning the platform into both a donation hub and a living record of community heritage.
Thanks to this collaboration, the Headstone Healing Project now has the best possible foundation to move into its fundraising phase, equipped with a professional, secure, and inspiring online presence that supports healing, remembrance, and restoration.
