CoBright proudly partnered with WHNC to deliver a new website that reflects its professionalism and strengthens its capacity to serve the local community.

The Challenge
Wilsonton Heights Neighbourhood Centre was established in 2007 to serve Toowoomba’s north-west suburbs. With $2.8 million of State Government funding invested in a new facility, the centre’s website needed a matching makeover.
A basic WordPress.com site had been created, but was failing to communicate the centre’s quality or mission. CoBright stepped in to provide a new, agency-built site that ensures continuity, professionalism, and usability.
Cobbled together by internal staff as a short-term solution, the original website was creating recurring issues with administration and maintenance as new staff struggled to access or update it. The key challenges it presented:
- Misaligned with the brand new state-of-the-art physical facility
- Hard to navigate, especially on mobile devices
- WordPress.com policies meant that inappropriate third-party ads were displayed
- Poor structure created a lack of credibility and usability – people couldn’t rely on the site to access information or services
Without a dedicated agency partner, the centre risked perpetuating poor design and limited online engagement as employees transitioned.

The Solution
CoBright created an engaging, intuitive site built to match WHNC’s modern facility and its community-focused mission. The core features we incorporated into this design project:
- Activities – spanning Monday to Friday, this easily modified page is accessible from the main menu, making it simple for users to check what’s happening in their area week to week.
- Events – this page can be used to publish and promote one-off events, helping users to plan in advance, learn about what’s involved, and anchoring future marketing efforts to one location.
- Room Hire – each function room is now presented as a dedicated listing, including specifications and an enquiry form, streamlining the centre’s revenue sourcing and facility usage.
- Design – built on a custom template, the new website aligns visually with the centre’s renovated building and promotes trust through a professional and welcoming layout.
- Navigation – tabbed sections for services and activities (with mobile-friendly accordions) have replaced the rabbit warren of lists and links, helping users and admin staff to find what they need with ease.
CoBright has not only built a solid digital foundation for WHNC to continue growing with, but now provides continuity by managing user access and updates over time.
Agency support takes the pressure off internal staff and prevents access issues when personnel change.

The Outcome
The new site offers a significantly improved digital experience that supports Wilsonton Heights Neighbourhood Centre’s operations and goals.
WHNC now has a website that matches the quality and modernity of its new building. CoBright’s work not only improved functionality and user experience but also provided continuity and professionalism regardless of staffing changes.
The result is a website that truly empowers WHNC’s mission to connect and uplift its community.
This project was delivered as part of CoBright’s commitment to supporting local community organisations and initiatives.
